I am a fashion enthusiast and life lover. I want to see women and men dressed in comfortable and functional clothes expressing who they are and how they feel the given day, but I also want to create a fashion industry that serves life. One, that benefits all its workers, managers and clients, one that preserves the environment for the future generations so that our children and the children of our children can enjoy the same or better quality of life.
Originally a fashion and textile designer from a small town in Czech Republic I moved to Germany, then to London and finally to Paris to follow my dream to “make it in fashion”. I worked as a textile designer, as a product developer for the biggest fashion brands, as an assistant buyer in a small independent boutique and the world famous department store. I have been to fashion weeks as a journalist and I worked in showrooms. I have seen a lot, maybe even too much.
It was in 2012 when I was working in Paris that I had my “fashion is dirty” breakthrough. Working in a big corporation I read a few articles in the professional fashion press about child labor and factory fires in Bangladesh. This was the moment that changed my life. I felt personally responsible for the impact fashion has on the people and planet since I was working in it. And I decided at that moment that me and “fashion as we know” is over. I quit my job and I have stopped shopping.
In 2013 I graduated from an MBA program. My studies and life turned into life mission to create a fashion system that makes sense, that is meaningful. I have been teaching sustainable fashion and social economics at several fashion schools in Paris and Bratislava, Slovakia. I organize an event dedicated to sustainable fashion in Prague with 50 brands and conferences.
In 2014 I coordinated the Fashion Revolution movement in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At the same time I started lecturing at the University of Paris ModSpe on product development in fashion from different perspectives with take on sustainable development and the future of sourcing, production and fashion business in general. Later I started teaching a special program Sustainable Fashion.
2015 was an important year as my Czech team and I launched the first edition of SLOU DAYS in Prague, the largest event in the Czech Republic, which brings together pioneers and lovers of sustainable fashion as well as the overall sustainable lifestyle. Since then we have organized SLOU DAYS twice a year, always in spring and autumn.
Teaching MBA Luxury Brand Management students and bringing new perspectives on the role of luxury brands in the society and business at the IFA Paris Fashion University has been added to my teaching profile.
In 2017, I was listed in Forbes 30 under 30 and published my first book "The Fake Parisian" under the auspices of one of the biggest Czech publishing houses. Its sequel "The Fake Parisian 2" followed in 2019, just like the SLOU book, with the subtitle "you guide to a slow lifestyle".
In 2020 I worked as a curator and manager of the Czech concept store for the Czech center in Paris at St. Germain de Prés, where I had the opportunity to introduce amazing Czech designers and present their work in the heart of Paris.
In 2021, I launched the online courses SLOU STYLE as part of SLOU.cz, as founder and executive director since 2015. I founded the SLOU STYLE SELF INVESTMENT CLUB program, which is a 6-month program in which you become the curator of your own wardrobe and life.
I am currently based in Paris as a SLOW FASHION COACH, where I help my clients create meaningful wardrobes that make them happy and break the "I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear" pattern once and for all.
It is my pleasure to share with you all the advantages the slowing down can have on your style, confidence, finances, inner peace and on the quality of your life and that of your children.

Being a part of the Czech center team since 2019 I had an opportunity to create a concept of a design store in the venue at 8 rue Bonaparte in the heart of Paris. I created the full concept, branding, marketing strategy, processes, merchandising, the full package. It was an amazing experience and I am happy to see Czech designers presenting their work in the concept store even after my departure. |
The SLOU book - your guide in slow lifestyle - was out there in 2019 as well
Yes, that is right. Two of my books came to the market within 2 months. It was not planned, but the production of the first book was delayed and the SLOU book came out perfectly on time. We launched it at the 10th season of SLOU DAYS. |
SLOU DAYS celebrated 10 seasons in November 2019
5 years, 10 seasons. I was so happy to celebrate that season with my team, the brands and our visitors. There is something special about SLOU DAYS. It is very niche. It attracts and gathers people who care. The atmosphere is so loving and so warm. This was also the first event I organized as a single mother. Free and empowered. |
The fake Parisian 2 was published
Second "episode" of my autobiography was published in the summer 2019. As the first one ends with me being pregnant, the second book is about juggling with all the roles I take on in my life - professor, entrepreneur, writer and now mothing coming in the game with all the cultural clashes between my Czech roots and feminist movement in Paris. |
Eighth season of SLOU DAYS was my lucky number
It was hard to believe that we have even survived 2018 as a project. It was really the worst year I have had business vise and it was the lesson that I am still learning from.
SLOU DAYS moved to a smaller venue. We went back to a multibrand pop-up store for 30 brands with conferences and well below thousands visitors. And it felt good. |
Miss Boudova in magazines... again and again and again.
There is not many magazines in Czech Republic where I have not been yet. It is an honor and fun and kind of responsibility to represent the sustainable fashion movement in my country.

Seventh SLOU DAYS, meeting Dominique Peclers and my business mistake
In the summer 2018 we threw the biggest possible SLOU DAYS. We printed and published the SLOU magazine. We planned to open an online shop with sustainable fashion. All this growth did not have a solid base and almost broke my neck. But I got over it thanks to my team and my family and once I might even pay all the debts. But I met Dominique Peclers, the icon of trendsetting, and welcomed her in Prague at SLOU DAYS. That was good, that was awesome.

Sixth season of SLOU DAYS welcomed Carry Sommers!
In autumn 2017 we welcomed the founder of Fashion Revolution in Prague at SLOU DAYS. We also published the first digital SLOU MAGAIZINE and I started pushing myself a little too much just to hit the wall soon after. In the photo you can see a baby carrier on my hips. It was a bit too much to teach, run a business, be full time mum to my one year old and write a book.

Started teaching at my 'homeschool' Iternational Fashion Academy, 2017
It feels like coming back home when you teach at the school where you studied. It feels really great especially because I have an honor to teach Sustainable Luxury. We had one outing session with the students that we closed up with practice of well-being. Because sustainability is personal, it is about well-being of each of us.

My daughter was too small to travel with me from Paris to Prague for the shooting, but I am still on the list. The dream that I have not even had came true. I mean the one about the Forbes. MBA in Fashion Business at IFA Paris and Shanghai
It was only few months before I started my studies at IFA that I had my "fashion is dirty" moment. I was on the metro going home from work reading about yet another factory fire in Bangladesh and child labor in tanneries in India. And I knew that very moment that I cannot work in this industry as it is anymore, that I cannot keep shopping the way I used to. I felt very confused about my future during my studies and it turned out that I really never got back working in fashion as it is. |
Contributing to the Magnifeco magazine during my MBA studies at IFA
In 2012 I contacted an online magazine Magnifeco.com and started covering the Parisian sustainable fashion scene. When I moved to Shanghai I met with Cristina Dean from Redress and other awesome icons of sustainable fashion thanks to this opportunity.
